Okines Community House along with Dodges Ferry Primary School & South East Arts Tasmania Inc. invite you to join us for the 2025 Winter Solstice Lantern Parade!
So come along with your friends, family and lanterns to help us light up the night and join in the parade! There will be a bonfire, shadow dancing and hot food and drinks for sale to help keep you warm on the night. Remember to dress warm and BYO mugs, torches and lanterns.
The parade will start at 5:30pm and will go around the loop track this year. We encourage people to walk or bike to the event as parking is limited.
South East Arts Tasmania Inc. will also be hosting a series of FREE Light Art Workshops at Okines in the lead up to this year's parade. There will be:
Light Boxes with Michelle Pears - Monday June 2nd 10:30am - 1:30pm
Shadow Puppet Making with Kathy Hall - Thursday June 12th 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Plastic Fusion Light Installations with Lorenz Cherry Tuesday June 17th 10:30am - 1:00pm.

This year we are also hosting a 'Light Installation Competition' for those who would like to get involved at home and make some Light Art to light up the night. The theme this year is 'Natural Wonders' with a prize for the most magical installation!
