Calling all songwriters!
The University of Tasmania welcomes songwriters at all stages of their practice (or anyone who is just curious) to come along and learn a little bit about UTAS' Songwriting Program.
Tour our amazing building, sit in on an industry panel and maybe even play a song for us at our Songwriter Workshop.
Please enter via The University of Tasmania entrance to The Hedberg at 19 Collins Street and you'll be directed where to go for each event.
Open Day Itinerary
9.30am – 10am
Open Recording Session
Join us in the studio as we watch UTAS songwriting students take one of their original songs through the recording process.
10.15am – 11.15am
Songwriter Workshop
Come and sit in on one of our songwriter workshops! This workshop is held weekly during the semester and gives all our songwriting students the opportunity to get up and share a song idea for feedback from their peers and lecturers. Participants can register to share their own song for feedback. This can be performed live or shared as a demo recording.
11.30am – 12.15pm

The theme for this year’s industry panel is “Building a vibrant and inclusive music community from the ground up.” Our panel features amazing representatives across different sections of our Tasmanian music community, including:
