Join us here at Okines Community House in the lead up to the Winter Solstice Lantern Parade for a series of FREE and fun light art workshops, facilitated by local artists from South East Arts Tasmania Inc.

Join local artist Lorenz Cherry from South East Arts for a hands-on workshop transforming everyday waste into luminous works of art.

Through a process of layering and heat-fusing discarded everyday plastics and other materials (such as wool and fabric scraps, ribbons and pressed natural elements), these once-forgotten items will be reborn as a radiant light installation.

In celebration of this year’s theme, The Natural World, we’ll explore the beauty of nature through repurposing trash into light-filled treasure.
