IMPROV Workshop - with Alec Shea

If you've ever wanted to learn the basics of improvisation on stage, come down this Sunday night to get some hands-on experience with the talented Alec Shea.

Originally from Tasmania, Alec lives in Germany working as a professional Sound Designer, Composer, and Voice Actor. He's contributed to several titles such as Hollow Hero, Yandere Simulator, EcoGnomix, and Corpse Factory. Alec has a passion for improv performances, and wants to share that skill and knowledge with others in his home state of Tasmania.

Attending this workshop, you'll get to practice some basic exercises and techniques that make up the foundation of two different styles of improv:

Chicago-style (think Mike Myers and Tim Robinson), and UCB-style, most common in New York and LA (Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and basically anyone from Dropout).

Exploring these foundations will help to provide an understanding of the history of improv, and to find your own personal preference and style within the space of improvisation.

Location: Youth Arts & Recreation Centre

If you would like to attend a short form Improv show hosted by Alec Shea, $5 tickets will be available for the performance which will begin shortly after 9:30pm. This ticket does not include refreshments, food, or access to the workshop.

Performance Only: 9:30pm - 10:30pm
