Make Your Own Sarasota Magazine: Family Publishing Pop-Up

Work alongside award-winning Sarasota Magazine staff and DreamLarge to create your family's very own DIY magazine! In this two-hour pop-up workshop, kids and parents will transform blank books into personalized publications about our community.

You'll brainstorm story ideas, craft headlines, design creative layouts, and fill pages with what makes Sarasota special to your family. Kids will develop writing and design skills while having fun with the creative process of magazine publishing.

All materials provided! This workshop is designed for families with children of all ages.

This workshop is part of Remake Learning Days Suncoast, a 15-day festival celebrating the joy of learning through free, hands-on experiences. The initiative highlights that learning happens everywhere—not just in classrooms—and can connect families in meaningful ways.

Remake Learning Days brings together schools, libraries, museums, and community organizations across Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties to offer activities that blend education with creativity and fun. This magazine-making workshop exemplifies the festival's mission by teaching media literacy and creative expression in an engaging, family-centered format.
