Q.E. Single Launch: 'Bottled Up'
An evening of strange music and stranger times with some of nipaluna's finest...
So it goes: Q.E. is launching our new single 'Bottled Up' and you're all invited to witness what happens when you bottle up feelings about a world that seems determined to eat itself in the most spectacular way possible.
'Bottled Up' is about climate change, but it's also about that feeling, you know, when you're watching everything fall apart on your phone while eating breakfast and wondering if you should recycle that soy milk container or just give up entirely (please don't, obviously, stop recycling).
The night's co-conspirators:
SOUPY MOOD
Hailing from Nipaluna/Tasmania, Soupy Mood is an original indie rock/folk group fronted by Sasha Gavlek. Inspired by the equal parts whimsy and dread of your late twenties, Soupy Mood features introspective themes through melancholic lyrics and vibrant instrumentation, perfect for the overthinker in your life who loves a cathartic jam out.
Squilly & Alex
Squilly & Alex is Will Squires making bedroom pop that hits you right in the feelings. You might know him from Miah Aplin's band, but this is different - more intimate, perhaps more devastating? He records in his bedroom "deep within Ganymede's iron core" (his words, not mine, it's written on his Bandcamp) and honestly, that makes perfect sense when you hear it.
LIZATRIX DJs wrap things up because r̄a bellatrix and Eliza Bird know exactly how to send us all home with the right songs rattling around in our heads.
The practical stuff:
Doors: 7:30pm
$15 if you're unwaged, $20 if you're not
Come prepared to feel things about things
See you there.
