Out Of The Shadows Walk - HOBART (FREE)

At dawn each year, we invite members of our community to walk together and honour those who we have lost to suicide.

Out Of The Shadows Walk enables those whose lives have been touched by suicide to connect with others and feel comfortable to have a conversation about it. We walk together because no one should have to walk through the darkness alone. You can walk to remember a loved one or to show support for those experiencing emotional distress.

We will gather at 5.45am and commence walk at 6am from the Murray Street end of Parliamentary Gardens and walk with candles along the flat, sealed footpath to the Cardinal Lights in Mawson Place and will return via Franklin Wharf. The walk is under 1km long and suitable for all abilities.

We will share moments together where we listen to speeches, personalise wooden tokens for the tree.

Free coffee by Que Sera Sera and light breakfast by IGA Brighton & Rotary Salamanca Sunrise will be on site, while Monique Brumby will be providing some gentle songs & music.

This event is FREE and there is no fundraising required.

Registered walkers will be provided with candles.
