Eerie Excursions is thrilled to announce an exclusive paranormal investigation at the Dunham Recreation Center, formerly known as Dunham Hospital, Dunham Sanatorium, and the Cincinnati Tubercular Hospital. We are the first paranormal event company granted access to this brand-new historical location, making this a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for paranormal enthusiasts!
Unearth the History of Dunham
Opened in 1897 as the country’s first municipal tuberculosis hospital, the Dunham complex spanned 115 acres and housed over 600 patients at its peak.
Originally part of the Guerley Farm, the grounds have a dark past as an 1849 Potter’s Field, where 10,000 bodies were buried during the cholera epidemic and other disease outbreaks. The site also served as a Civil War hospital camp, adding yet another layer of historical significance. The hospital officially closed its doors in 1973, leaving behind countless untold stories and mysteries.
Paranormal Activity Reported
The Dunham grounds and buildings are teeming with paranormal reports:
- Tunnels: Echoes of coughing, gurneys being pushed, and footsteps leading to the morgue and crematorium.
- Occupational Therapy Building: Shadow figures darting between rooms, accompanied by disembodied footsteps and conversations.
- Auditorium: Electronics malfunction mysteriously, and shadowy figures are spotted on the balcony.
- Dressing Room: A strange presence lingers, with apparitions appearing in mirrors.
- Grounds: Apparitions of Civil War soldiers in full uniform and EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena) captured near the main hospital site.
