Fjölskylduvæn smiðja þar sem peysur öðlast nýtt útlit í jólaþema fyrir desember.
Smiðjan byggir á skapandi fataviðgerðar smiðjum textílhönnuðarins Ýrúrarí, þar sem föt öðlast nýtt líf og útlit með mjög einföldum og aðgengilegum aðferðum.
Þátttakendur koma sjálfir með peysu, eða prjónaða flík, sem þau vilja breyta og ef einhverjar sérstaklega jólalegar hugmyndir hafa vaknað fyrir smiðju, eins og t.d að nota litlar jólaseríur eða úrelt jólaksraut heima úr geymslu, þá er um að gera að taka slíkt með!
Í smiðjunni verður í boði ýmis efniviður og verkfæri sem hægt er að vinna með í einföldum og skrautlegum textíl aðferðum sem henta algjörum byrjendum sem og lengra komnum. Einnig verður í boði efniviður og lausnir til að taka þátt í smiðjunni án þess að koma með peysu eða flík, enda ýmislegt sem hægt er að útbúa til að festa á flíkur tímabundið bara fyrir jólin.
Ætlast er til að börn yngri en 10 ára komi í fylgd fullorðins.
Skapandi fataviðgerðarsmiðja Ýrúrarí hefur ferðast víða, og hefur t.f farið fram í Tívolí í Kaupmannahöfn, Textile Art Center í New York, á Helsinki fashion week og á MAK safnið í Vín. Þátttakendum er því einnig frjálst að vinna fataviðgerðir sem eru ekki í jólaþema og virka allan ársins hring en stuðst er við svipaðar aðferðir á jólapeysusmiðjunni. Smiðjuna þróaði textílhönnuðurinn Ýr Jóhannsdóttir (Ýrúrarí) á Hönnunarsafni Íslands í lokaverkefni sínu í listkennsludeild LHÍ, þar sem markmiðið var að móta aðgengilega fataviðgerðarsmiðju þar sem skapandi hugsun og flæði ræður för. Ýrúrarí er þekkt fyrir endruvinnsluverkefni sín með notaðar ósöluhæfar peysur sem hún glæðir nýju lífi og persónuleika með fjölbreyttum handverks aðferðum.

Christmas Sweater Workshop with Ýrúrarí

A family-friendly workshop where sweaters get a brand-new Christmas-themed look for December!
The workshop is based on the creative clothing repair sessions developed by textile designer Ýrúrarí, where garments gain new life and style through simple and accessible techniques.
Participants are invited to bring their own sweater or knitted garment to transform. If you have any particularly festive ideas—such as using small Christmas lights or an old Christmas decoration from storage—feel free to bring those along too!
A variety of materials and tools will be available to work with, suitable for both complete beginners and more experienced makers. There will also be materials and options for those who wish to participate without bringing a sweater, as there are plenty of ways to make temporary decorations just for the holiday season.
Children under 10 years old should be accompanied by an adult.
Ýrúrarí’s creative clothing repair workshops have traveled widely, taking place at venues such as Tivoli in Copenhagen, the Textile Arts Center in New York, Helsinki Fashion Week, and the MAK Museum in Vienna. Participants are also welcome to work on non-Christmas-themed repairs that can be enjoyed year-round—the same playful techniques apply in this Christmas edition of the workshop.
The workshop was developed by textile designer Ýr Jóhannsdóttir (Ýrúrarí) at the Museum of Design and Applied Art as part of her final project in the Art Education Department at the Iceland University of the Arts, with the aim of creating an accessible and creative space for clothing repair where imagination and flow lead the process.
Ýrúrarí is known for her upcycling projects that transform unsellable used sweaters into unique pieces full of character and humor through a wide range of textile techniques.

Warsztaty tworzenia świątecznych swetrów z Ýrúrarí�13 grudnia�godz. 13:00
Dla wszystkich grup wiekowych, dzieci poniżej 10. roku życia powinny uczestniczyć w warsztatach z osobą dorosłą.
Daj swojemu staremu swetrowi nowe, świąteczne życie!
Zajęcia opierają się na autorskich, kreatywnych metodach naprawy ubrań stworzonych przez artystkę tekstylną Ýrúrarí, podczas których, dzięki prostym technikom ubrania zyskają drugie życie i nowy styl
Zachęcamy do przyniesienia własnego swetra lub innego dzianinowego ubrania.
Jeśli w swoim projekcie chcesz wykorzystać coś nietypowego np. lampki choinkowe lub starą ozdobę świąteczną - zabierz je ze sobą.
Na miejscu dostępne będą różnorodne materiały i narzędzia, odpowiednie zarówno dla osób początkujących, jak i bardziej doświadczonych twórców.
Zapewnimy też opcje dla nie posiadających własnego swetra!
Uczestnicy mogą również pracować nad projektami niezwiązanymi ze świętami, ponieważ techniki, które poznamy są uniwersalne.
Warsztaty zostały opracowane przez projektantkę tkanin Ýr Jóhannsdóttir (Ýrúrarí) w Muzeum Designu i Sztuki Stosowanej jako część jej projektu dyplomowego na kierunku edukacji artystycznej na Islandzkim Uniwersytecie Sztuki. Celem projektu było stworzenie dostępnej, kreatywnej przestrzeni do naprawy ubrań, w której wyobraźnia i przepływ twórczy prowadzą cały proces.
Jej warsztaty odbywały się już w wielu miejscach, m.in. w Tivoli w Kopenhadze, Textile Arts Center w Nowym Jorku, podczas Helsinki Fashion Week oraz w Muzeum MAK w Wiedniu.�
Ýrúrarí znana jest z projektów upcyklingowych, w których przekształca niesprzedawalne, używane swetry w unikatowe, pełne charakteru i humoru dzieła, wykorzystując różnorodne techniki tekstylne.
