This year we are celebrating Restoration Grass Volleyball's 14th annual "Ditch the Beach, Dig the Grass", coed 4's, grass volleyball tournament in Sarasota on November 29. This year's format will have BB/A as well as AA/Open divisions, followed by double elimination bracket play. The event will be a one day event going from 8am-10pm.
Scientific data has proven there is no better way to work off the pumpkin pie and mash potatoes from Thanksgiving, than competing in our event.
All teams are required to have a minimum of one girl. Team entry is $160. Full payment will be due by 11/27/25 (Thursday) at 5pm through Volleyballlife.com.
Check-in is at 7:30 AM and play will begin at 8:00AM and finish under the lights!
We will be running a BB/A division as well as a AA/OPEN. As usual prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd in all divisions.
This year, 50% of the tournament proceeds are going for a very special cause, and your involvement is going to mean more than you know.
Joshua Cothron is a local friend, teacher, athlete, coach, brother and son to many of us here in the volleyball community. He was injured in a car accident July 11, which left him in the ICU for three weeks, was flown to the Shepherd Center for spinal cord injuries and is in need of 24-7 care. So many people in our community are praying for him and for the return of feelings and use of his body below his neck. Meanwhile the need for financial resources are and will continue for some time. And only God knows when that will be. Your involvement and donations to the tournament will help him with his ongoing needs towards recovery: medical, doctors, home care and rehab, transportation, and so many more unknowns.
If you can't find teammates I recommend going to the "Ditch the Beach, Dig the grass'" Facebook page to find others that are looking.
