Nourishing Hope w/ Science of Hope & Port Angeles Food Bank

Research shows that hope is a key predictor of success in education, work, and life. Do you want to learn more about the Science of Hope? Be inspired by local innovation and transformation? Register to join Nourishing Hope on June 23 and 24 hosted by the Port Angeles Food Bank and facilitated by Clallam Resilience Project.

Hope is not simply a wish. It is something we can measure, apply and grow in our communities. Join us for two in-person, place-based, collaborative learning sessions. The time together is designed to inspire and inform professionals and community members from Clallam and Jefferson Counties using the real life models occurring at the Port Angeles Food Bank.

Once you register, you are reserving one of 30 seats and it is a commitment to attend.

Participants will gain:

• An understanding of the three core tenets of the Science of Hope framework, and see how its practical trauma-informed and hope centered approach can reach across the community and in different sectors
• Behind the scene’s tours of the Port Angeles Food Bank and their innovative and successful initiatives
• Time to nourish opportunities for collaboration and wellbeing around the Science of Hope on the Olympic Peninsula.

To prepare for your participation, please have an introductory understanding of what the Science of Hope is, its importance, and how increased awareness of the science and power of hope promotes well-being. You can:

Info: Along with a light breakfast, the learning will focus on a brief refresher of the Science of Hope, paying particular focus to "Goals." The on-site learning will include a tour of The Market and connections to the goals of the Port Angeles Food Banks' Weekend Food Bags.

Info: Alongside a light breakfast, the group will look at "Pathways" and "Willpower/Agency" as tenants of the Science of Hope. The place based learning will include both a literal and conceptual tour of the Mobile Market and the Cafe.
