Rails & Rhythms Bluegrass Night: Celebrating Music and Community in Old Fort, NC

The Trails and Trains Association, Destination McDowell, and community partners are kicking off Trails and Trains 2025 with a night celebrating community and music in downtown Old Fort, NC. Despite still being in the midst of clean up 6 months after the devastation of Hurricane Helene, the Old Fort Community is resilient; opening new businesses, supporting one another and rebuilding. We are excited to kick off the festival on Friday night with “Rails & Rhythms Bluegrass Night”-- an evening to come together, support local businesses, share resources and recognize the amazing strength of our community while listening to award winning local musicians.
Zoe and Cloyd, Darren Nicolson, and a special WNC All-Star Band featuring Buddy Melton and Shawn Lane, Laney and Bishop, and surprise guests headline this FREE event. Bring your own chair, grab dinner at one of our downtown restaurants and join us for a night of live music for the whole family.
In addition to entertainment, the event offers information about the Trains and Trails Fest, limited edition “Old Fort Mountain Music” merchandise, information about on-going recovery resources and more. Music starts at 6:30 PM!
