Celebrate East Lyme Sandcastle Competition

Come compete in a bayside battle of the creative at Hole-in-the-Wall Beach! Free to enter, pre-registration required. Space is limited.

Competition Categories
- Jellyfish (Ages 12 and under)
- Seaside Squad (Team/family of various ages)
- Poseidon Prize (Judges’ Choice)

Competition Rules
- Only native beach materials may be used.
- Must bring your own tools. No power tools.
- Group is limited to 7.
- Must stay within your assigned lot.
- Cannot start before 9am.
- Jellyfish Category: Adults may help children transport water to their plot, but cannot help in the construction of the caste/structure.
- This is a fun family contest, so nothing risqué or political is allowed.
- Sand may not be added or removed from the designated plot.
- Water may be added.
- No coloring paint, flour, sugar, starch, cement, glue or adhesives allowed.
