Our Last Tree: A Dance Sharing
As part of our ongoing creative journey, The Nelipot Collective invites the community to a special sharing of our evolving work, Our Last Tree. What began as Raze Rays Raise has blossomed into a dance piece that places the tree at its heart—a living symbol through which we explore the unraveling of community and our growing disconnection from the environment.
This performance event will unfold non-linearly, inviting the audience into an immersive experience that begins in the aftermath—immediately after the last tree has fallen. Together, we will journey backwards in time, reflecting on the choices and circumstances that led us to this moment of loss. Finally, we look ahead, imagining the possibilities for renewal, healing, and reconnection, should we choose to work together and restore our relationship with the living world.
Through movement, storytelling, and participatory ritual, this dance sharing is not just a performance, but a communal rite—an invitation for all present to mourn, reflect, and plant seeds of hope for new beginnings. We hope this gathering will spark renewed wonder, connection, and commitment to caring for each other and the earth.
