Join as at Hadley’s Orient Hotel for a lovely afternoon tea with Heather Rose discussing her historical novel A Great Act of Love.

Set in Van Dieman’s land, 1939, a young woman of means arrives in Hobart, following an epic voyage from the French Revolution from London via New York. Leasing an old cottage, with a boy in her care, next to a condoned vineyard, Caroline Douglas must navigate an insular colony of exiles and opportunities and invent a new life. Carolyn carries a significant secret that has compelled her to cross the world, and her story unfolds amidst the lush landscapes and challenges of her new life.
