Explore the sculptural side of metal clay in this hands-on workshop with Tammy Honaman, with a fun project from her soon-to-be-published book PROJECTS & TECHNIQUES FOR METAL CLAY JEWELRY: A Creative Approach to Making 13 Bracelets, Necklaces, Earrings, Findings & More.
You'll learn to create beautifully textured, dimensional links using fine silver metal clay and a silicone mold to shape each circle with precision. These versatile components can be turned into chain links, toggles, earrings, or pendants—perfect for custom jewelry designs. Tammy will guide you through every step: from rolling and texturing the clay, to forming it on molds, refining, firing, and finishing each piece with a professional touch. We’ll also discuss how to incorporate your handmade links into complete designs like bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Skill Level: All levels welcome
What You’ll Learn:
● Working with templates and molds for uniform shapes
● Adding and preserving texture during forming
● Drilling holes for connections or clasps
● Making and finishing toggle bars (optional)
● Best practices for refining, firing, and polishing
