The big W**d

Our regular Wednesday morning volunteers work hard at maintaining the flower beds but some of the areas with shrubs are very overgrown and we really need some extra hands to help us clear them. Once they are cleared, we plan to cover the ground with wood bark to prevent the growth of new weeds.

We are planning a few 2 hour sessions over the next few weeks, targeting 3 areas near the Beverley Road entrance, and the shrubberies between the main path and the tennis courts.

Can you spare an hour or two to join us to tackle these areas? Children are welcome but must be supervised. You would be allocated a bed along with other volunteers, so that we can see progress being made quickly, and it’s a great way to meet like minded people.

We can provide tools and barrows for about 6-8 people - or feel free to bring your own.

We plan to run sessions on Saturday 14th June, 28th June, and 12th July, 10:00 to 12:00 - weather permitting. A willingness for able bodied helpers to get stuck in is all that is needed - and will make a big difference.

If these dates don't suit, midweek sessions may also be possible - or join the Wednesday morning volunteers!
