𝙑𝙖𝙣 𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙠𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙖𝙖𝙧 𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙚𝙙? 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙩.
De vzw 𝙑𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙫𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙚 𝙕𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙨𝙚 𝘿𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙣 is een open collectief dat ijvert voor een kwalitatieve omgang met erfgoed en ontwikkeling in Zwalm. Soms serieus, evenzeer ludiek en artistiek gaan ze de dialoog aan met medeburgers en bestuur.
Tijdens Kunst & Zwalm willen ze met een installatie en debat samen reflecteren over de toekomst van publieke (overheids)gronden. Ook in Zwalm hebben verschillende overheden (zoals de gemeente Zwalm, maar ook buurgemeentes, provincie, Vlaamse overheid) heel wat eigendommen. Dit zowel in dorpskernen als in natuur- en landbouwgebied. Als (eenmalige) bron van inkomsten worden deze publieke gronden in sneltempo verkocht en verkaveld. Een marktlogica die voorbijgaat aan de vaak eeuwenlange collectieve waardering die ze herbergen. Gelukkig wordt het debat over de strategische waarde van deze gronden voor de landschappelijke beleving, voedselproductie, biodiversiteit, en klimaatrobuustheid ook steeds meer gevoerd. Maar alle inspiratie is welkom!
Vandaar hun vraag aan de inwoners van Zwalm: Aan welke duurzame collectieve toekomst van deze plekken denk jij? Wat is je droom of nachtmerrie voor deze plekken?
Als vzw brengen ze graag enkele gronden in overheidseigendom onder de aandacht. Gronden die als onbebouwde percelen mee het Zwalmse landschap bepalen, en die onze collectieve aandacht meer dan waard zijn.
Het gesprek wordt ingeleid door de kortfilm 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 van 𝗹𝗮𝘂 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗷𝗻.

The non-profit organisation 𝙑𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙫𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙚 𝙕𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙨𝙚 𝘿𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙣 is an open collective that strives for a qualitative approach to heritage and development in Zwalm. Sometimes serious, sometimes playful and artistic, they engage in dialogue with fellow citizens and the authorities.
During Kunst & Zwalm, they want to reflect on the future of public (government) land through an installation and debate. In Zwalm, too, various authorities (such as the municipality of Zwalm, but also neighbouring municipalities, the province and the Flemish government) own a great deal of property. This is the case both in village centres and in nature and agricultural areas. As a (one-off) source of income, these public lands are being sold and parceled out at a rapid pace. This market logic ignores the collective value that these lands have often held for centuries. Fortunately, the debate about the strategic value of these lands for the landscape experience, food production, biodiversity, and climate resilience is also becoming increasingly prevalent. But all inspiration is welcome!
Hence their question to the residents of Zwalm: What sustainable collective future do you envisage for these places? What is your dream or nightmare for these places?
As a non-profit organisation, they would like to draw attention to some government-owned land. Land that, as undeveloped sites, helps define the Zwalm landscape and is more than worthy of our collective attention.
The conversation will be introduced by the short film 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 by 𝗹𝗮𝘂 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗷𝗻.
