🛶☀️ In collaboration with Friends of the Detroit River & their partners: Belle Isle Conservancy, Belle Isle Nature Center, and Downriver Linked Greenways we invite you & your friends/family to celebrate National Canoe & Kayak Day on the beautiful Lake Okonka on Belle Isle.
This event is free, open to everyone and all ages (youth under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult).
📌Registration isn’t required but strongly encouraged.
Walk ups are welcome!

Some kayaks, canoes, paddles, and life jackets will be provided. You are also welcome to bring your own boat (boats are provided on a first come first serve basis)!
Note: A State Recreation Passport is required to enter Belle Isle. All paddle participants must complete a waiver prior to paddling.

Reduce plastic pollution and bring your reusable water container. Water refill will be provided.
🧴🧢Dress according to the weather and your preferred activities. We encourage you to wear/bring sunscreen, hats, water shoes and dry bag (paddling), and bug repellent.
