In Honor of the 159th Anniversary of Juneteenth!
Juneteenth is the celebration of the fight for freedom! Come and learn on an exciting tour of the fight for freedom in Detroit!
If you didn't know, Black people were the leaders of the the abolitionist movement & the Underground Railroad in Detroit. In fact, the fight against slavery is what CREATED the Black community IN DETROIT! Please come out and learn about the people, the events, and the places that showed Black cooperative action, Black agency, and Black unity that created a Black community.
We Will Visit 3 sites.
We meet at Campus Martius Park and start PROMPTLY at 1PM next to the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument.
ALMOST FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
$5 for prepaid online ticket. $10 if you pay at the tour.
