Chair Yoga with Bonnie

Bonnie Stronach will offer a free chair yoga class for Members & Friends at the UUCC. The class will begin on April 11 from 3 to 4 PM, ending August 29. This is a gentle practice performed seated, using a chair for support, helpful for those with balance issues or those who have trouble getting up & down off the floor. Class will begin gently, emphasizing being present in our body, sustaining a flowing breath, and warming up. It will progress to gentle yoga poses called asanas, and end with a relaxation called Yoga Nidra. A blanket or something warm is recommended. For those who choose to stand, you are invited to bring a mat. Bonnie is a Kripalu certified instructor. Kripalu is located in Lenox, MA., and their curriculum includes Technique, Teaching Methodology, and Practicum for Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation; Yogic Philosophy, Anatomy and Physiology, and Professional Ethics. Before attending Kripalu, Bonnie taught under a Sivananda mentor and then opened her own studio where she taught group, individual, and restorative classes.
