Advance Care Planning

Come join us at the Columbia Public Library for an informative event on Advance Care Planning. Learn to enhance person-centered care by fostering a deeper understanding of the distinction between morality and ethics, enabling care givers to navigate complex, value-driven decisions. It promotes ethical communication techniques to better understand and respect residents’ goals, values, and preferences. By recognizing the limitations of principles-based approaches, participants learn to adapt care strategies to honor the unique context and personhood of each resident. These skills ensure care is empathetic, flexible, and aligned with what matters most to individuals and their families.
