In this workshop for adults, we’ll explore the exhibition Tintoretto’s Genesis, taking inspiration from the Renaissance artist’s use of the human figure to convey motion, energy, and drama. After a conversation in the galleries, instructors from Manifest Drawing Center will lead a figure drawing session with clothed models in our ground floor classrooms. Try your hand at capturing dynamic and energetic poses as we draw together and learn.
About Manifest Drawing Center:
Manifest is a non-profit organization established in 2004 by professors and students, founded to champion the importance of quality in the visual arts and provide artists a supportive environment for growth and connection. While Manifest’s overall programming is divided into four balanced quadrants—Gallery (exhibitions), Press (publications), Artist Residency (support), and Drawing Center (education)—the Drawing Center focuses on providing immersive opportunities for individuals to practice and learn about drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and design fundamentals. We believe that when individuals learn to creatively focus their eyes, hands, and minds on the world around them, they become better contributors to society. Our program emphasizes craftsmanship, visual literacy, and critical thinking as skills that can be applied to all aspects of life. The Center’s goal is to help individuals of all levels and backgrounds become better artists and build connections to a supporting community.
