IAMDYNAMITE with Faye

Formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and now residing in North Carolina, IAMDYNAMITE is a musical duo comprised of high school classmates Chris Martin and Chris Phillips. IAMDYNAMITE’s albums SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC and WASA TUSA showcases the band’s broad musical range, from fast-paced, anthemic, catchy rock to the soft synth-pop you imagine riding off into the sunset while listening. Both albums highlight their melodic, hook-laden songwriting skills and deliver on all emotional fronts. IAMDYNAMITE has seen success with the songs “Where Will We Go” and “Hey Girl” from SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC, which together spent over 25 weeks in the Top 20 of the Billboard Alternative chart, followed by “In The Summer” from WASA TUSA, which debuted on the charts as well. These achievements mark a massive accomplishment for a band that was virtually unknown until that point. IAMDYNAMITE is now building on years of touring across the US and Europe. The Chris's are currently writing, recording, and performing new material that combines the bombastic energy of SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC with the well-crafted musicality of WASA TUSA.

Faye is a project started by Charlotte, NC musicians Susan Plante (guitar/vocals) and Sarah Blumenthal (bass/vocals). The diversity of influence is apparent in their songwriting, but it finds a happy medium in the fuzzed out 90’s rock sound that calls to mind the likes of The Breeders and Sleater-Kinney. Plante’s inclination towards dissonance, almost always challenged by Blumenthal’s straight-forward and poppy bass lines, creates an intentional contortion and lends to the band’s unique sound. With the addition of Erik Berns (drums), the trio has cemented a textured and discordant sound with layers of meandering guitar and soul scraping bass tones that you can feel deep in the pit of your chest.
