June 19th Drum Circle and Sacred Circle Dance

Join Dr. Jane on Thursday, June 19th in the First Parish Church Vestry from 6:00-6:30 for a drum circle and 6:40-7:10 for a sacred circle dance. All are welcome, and no experience is necessary. The drum circle will be a meditative experience in which we explore our own creative expressions, listen for the movement of God’s spirit, and listen and respond to one another. We close each drum circle with a few moments for sharing and reflection. Sacred circle dance is a form of communal dance with roots in traditional dances from other cultures. It emphasizes a sense of unity and community with God and one another through movement. The circle shape itself is seen as a symbol of unity and inclusivity. For the wellbeing of all gathered, please refrain from wearing fragrances to these events. We are able to provide use of 18 drums for the drum circle. Registration for the drum circle is helpful since we have a limited number of drums.
