Mo Kessler is a queer southern artist and organizer whose work "Raise More" is featured in our current exhibition "The Speed of Fashion." Kessler's artwork is focused on labor as both an action and a movement, working-class visibility, and the power of objects made by hand. They will share with us their research on the Uprising of 1934, the largest textile strike in US history, the years of spontaneous work stoppages that led up to the strike, how the strike changed labor laws across the US, and how those laws are currently under threat.
