Oh, Winona! Watercolor Paintings by Faye Schoen

Watercolor paintings completed in and around the town, river, lakes, backwaters and hills of Winona by local artist, Faye Schoen, will be on display in the Winona Public Library’s Bell Art Room during the month of June. Schoen will give a talk about her art on Tuesday, June 10th at 4:30pm, and many of her original paintings will be available to purchase.

Schoen worked for the past 20 some years to increase her skills in watercolor painting, not only taking classes from many national and internationally known painters, but also as part of a weekly painting cohort that meets at Mississippi Mornings Studio in LaMoille. Additionally, she has taught many watercolor classes at the Winona Art Center and the Minnesota Conservatory​ of the Arts.

Schoen has taken part in several plein air events this past year, including the Grand Marais Outdoor Artist, Winona plein air event sponsored by River arts alliance, Art Along the Trail sponsored by the Friends of the Refuge, and Between the Bluffs plein air competition in La Crosse. The exhibit will include some completed paintings from these events.
