Moses Mayes Set to Reignite the Stage with Reunion Show at Park Theatre
Winnipeg, MB – Prepare for an electrifying musical experience as Moses Mayes, Winnipeg's acclaimed funk/fusion band, announces their highly-anticipated reunion show at the Park Theatre on May 3, 2025. This marks the first time in over 15 years that the band will perform together, promising an unforgettable night of music and nostalgia.
Formed in 1999, Moses Mayes quickly established themselves as a must-see live act, creating legendary Monday night sessions at the now-defunct Braemar Bakery in Osborne Village. Known for their explosive live performances, the band earned a reputation as one of the best touring acts in Canada of the 2000s.
Influenced by the iconic sounds of Jamiroquai, Herbie Hancock and Jazz Fusion, Moses Mayes delivered unforgettable performances in their hometown, headlining Winnipeg's Old Market Square for 9+ years on Sunday nights. They also made notable appearances at major festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival, Jazz Winnipeg, SaskJazz, Ottawa Jazz Festival, Evolve Festival, and Vancouver Jazz Festival and graced the stages of major Canadian venues like the Commodore Ballroom (Vancouver), El Mocambo (Toronto), Starlite Room (Edmonton) and Amigos (Saskatoon). The band has had the honor of opening for legends like James Brown and Herbie Hancock and shared the stages with Ivana Santlille, Earth Wind & Fire, Kid Koala, Skcratch Bastid, The Pocket Dwellers, Five Alarm Funk and many more.
The reunion show will feature six original members alongside long-time collaborators, including Nathan Reimer, Grant Paley, Mark Gonzaga, Antin Muzyka, Julian Bradford, Scott Senior, Chuck Copanace, Neil Watson, Phil Collins, and Paul Metcalfe. Together, they will bring back the magic that captivated audiences throughout their decade-long career, during which they performed over 500 shows and released four records and one EP which were honoured with three Western Canadian Music Awards.
