This June on Mini Makers Monday, we’re celebrating the start of summer with big bursts of color, playful textures, and festive fun. From patriotic handprints to popsicle collages and smiling suns, each week invites young creators to explore a world of craft and creativity.
June 2 – Red, White & Handprints
We’re kicking off June with double the patriotic fun!
Artists will create two festive crafts using their hands as stamps:
Handprint Flag: Artists will stamp a blue handprint in the top left corner of their paper to represent the star section of the U.S. flag, then use red paint to add bold stripes.
Handprint Firework: Using blue paint, they’ll stamp a handprint in the center of white paper and turn it into a bursting firework with added red and blue brushstrokes.
June 9 – Hello Sunshine! 😎
Brighten your Monday with a sunny masterpiece! Artists will paint a paper plate with warm yellow and orange hues to create a vibrant sun, then adorn it with pre-cut sunglasses and a friendly mouth drawn with a marker.
June 16 – Popsicle Party 🍭
Sweeten your Monday with a creative popsicle collage! Young makers tear and glue colorful paper onto pre-cut popsicle shapes, adding a sparkle with glitter paint or glue. A craft stick attached to the back transforms it into a cheerful treat.
June 23 – Watermelon Slice 🍉
Celebrate summer’s juicy delights! Using half of a paper plate, artists craft a watermelon slice—painting the rind green and the inside pink. After drying, they add seeds with black paint and their fingertips, resulting in a refreshing, fun creation.
June 30 – Shooting Star Sparkle ⭐🎆
Close the month with a burst of creativity! Using a pre-cut star shape stamped with red and blue paint, artists glue long streamers of blue and red tissue paper to mimic a shooting star’s tail—a dazzling finale to a month of creative Mondays.
