The Great Cardboard Boat Float Challenge!
Sunday, July 6 • Sink or Swim Starts at 5 PM
Ready to test your engineering *and* swimming skills? Join us for the most ridiculous and glorious event of the summer: The Great Cardboard Boat Float Challenge! Whether you’re a solo sailor or a family team of duct-tape dreamers, this is your chance to build a boat, set sail... and probably get wet.
Two Age Categories:
Family/Kids Built
Adults Built (bragging rights at stake)
Design Category: The most artistic and creative design gets recognized too!
RULES OF THE SEA (or the lake):
-Boats must be made from ONLY cardboard & tape (duct/packing/painters)! You can decorate with non-toxic paint/crayons/markers. 🖌️
- One passenger per boat, friends or family spotting minors is encouraged!
- We “boat” only in the regulated perimeters
- All on-water participants must wear a life vest & boat shoes
- Bring your own boat (sinking is half the fun!) and help cleanup your soggy box after!
- No motors, seriously!
This is not a race: The boat with the longest float time wins eternal “local fame & glory” and maybe some soggy high-fives!
Start collecting your boxes, get building, and get ready to float, or fabulously fail in style.
Sink you there!
