Berimbau Making Workshop

We’re beyond excited to host a special 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 on 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟗𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝐏𝐌 — right here at the academy.

This hands-on experience will guide you through all four stages of building your own Berimbau:

𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐭 �

Almost all materials will be provided, but if you have any tools or materials you'd like to bring from home, it can help move things along—especially when it comes to fabrication.

� 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓: Because this workshop involves sharp tools (knives, scissors, etc.), all 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝟏𝟑 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 must attend and participate alongside their children.

�𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐔𝐒: You get to 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐮, and we’ll be adding music sessions to our regular schedule so you can keep learning how to play and grow your skills in the roda.

Feel free to bring snacks and beverages for the day! This isn’t just a workshop — it’s a 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲. A 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. An 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

The 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐮 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚. To build it with your own hands is to deepen your bond with the art, the culture, and the movement. Whether you're a lifelong capoeirista or just starting out, this is your chance to feel that connection from the inside out.
