Aromatic Bitters: A Spring Cleansing Workshop
This workshop begins with an in-depth lecture on the history of bitters and medicinal herbs, followed by a sampling of various bitter tinctures.
The bitter flavor spectrum will be explored, featuring common local plants like burdock root, dandelion root, and citrus skin, as well as lesser-known plants such as gentian, mugwort, and yarrow.
Participants will delve into the process of making bitters, beginning with a base alcohol and adding layers of flavor through infusions. Participants will experiment with a variety of herbs, spices, fruits, and botanicals to create a distinctive blend.
The workshop's second half will be hands-on, offering a selection of dried herbs, roots, and barks for participants to create their own bitter infusion to take home.
