Introducing, Cherry Chambers:
Brantley County native, Cherry Dawn Langley Chambers is a Southern author of eight published works, six of them novels. Her most recent novel, Quill & Feathers, features a group of aspiring writers who gather regularly at The Gold House in Nahunta, GA to share and collaborate on their work. Also showcased in this novel is colorful artwork by members of the Brantley County Art Association.
After retiring from teaching, the college English instructor began to pursue her desire to write and travel. Since 2016, she has averaged publication of a book each year, the last six are novels featuring Southeast Georgia settings.
“My stories take place in real locations and contain actual occurrences. I think readers enjoy reading about a place or an event they recognize. I appreciate when an author incorporates real life into fiction, so I try to do the same.”
“Writing is a solitary occupation,” the author observed, “but I always enjoy leading workshops, mentoring beginning writers, and offering encouragement where I can. I’m really living my dream.”
The author is currently at work on her seventh novel as well as her second illustrated children's book--both are slated for publication later this year.
