A NIGHT OF HIP HOP IN WATERLOO - Record Release Party! Come join us at Up Lounge for a night filled with Hip Hop as we celebrate the release of "Oneself" the album by Righteous produced by Pro-Logic! Get ready to enjoy performances by Canadian legends Michie Mee, Thrust OG & DJ Ron Nelson! Music will be provided all night long by Docta Def of Analog Soundsystem, DJ Carmelo of Street Hop & DJ Quanta. The after party will continue after the show. Vibe and have a blast until 2:00 am. Don't miss out on this epic event - grab your crew and get ready to party all night long!

Info: As of July of 2020, Righteous released his EP ‘Be Conscious Of’ which features Es, G Dot & Born, Edo G, Eddie Kaine, Recognize Ali, Faith Walker & Dominique Gorley with production by Domingo, DJ Corbett, Statik Selektah, and DJ Merciless. The lead single “CMO III” features Craig G of the Iconic Juice Crew along with vocalist Lomel. Moving forward to 2022 "What is" featuring Ruste Juxx produced by DJ Mercilless was the first single from Righteous's last release entitled "and the DEVIL is..." This release features appearances by AKX of Righteous Revolution, G FOX, Kool G Rap, Rashad Roulett, Thirsty McGurk,Van Glorious, Ikee Mula Larreck Ebanks & Faith Walker. Production is by DJ Mercilless, Ear 2 Tha Beat & bvtman.
Info: Meet Ron Nelson, a multifaceted talent who has made an indelible impact on the Canadian hip-hop scene. Throughout his life, he has worn many hats as a writer, producer-engineer, event organizer, public speaker, broadcaster, archivist, and now, a recording artist once again. But it was his trailblazing efforts in concert promotions during the 1980s and 90s that cemented his place in Canadian hip-hop history. Renowned for having set the ‘Canadian Urban blueprint’, DJ Ron Nelson is Canada’s most influential promoter of early hip hop, hence why he is referred to as the ‘godfather’ of Canadian hip hop, a proud title he humbly accepts resulting from his 40-plus year contribution to the industry. Ron’s visionary approach played a pivotal role in shaping the genre’s emergence and growth, earning him well-deserved recognition and respect to this day.
DJ Ron Nelson is an icon in in Canadian music history, having pioneered the first hip-hop radio show on CKLN 88.1 FM.
Info: Thrust, is a Canadian rapper from Toronto, Ontario. He is most known for his appearance on the Rascalz' 1998 single "Northern Touch," which also features Kardinal Offishall, Choclair, and Checkmate. He was also featured on the pop band soulDecision's biggest hit "Faded". Thrust has taught an Artist Series at the Harris Institute of Music in Toronto.
In 1994 he was featured in Andrew Munger's documentary film Make Some Noise.
Info: Michie Mee is known within the music industry for her unique rap style of combining reggae and dancehall with hiphop. Many successful artists have followed in Michie’s footsteps using this gifted technique. With over three decades in the entertainment industry, the Juno nominated rapper and actress is not only an inspiration for female musicians, but also all artists nationwide.
Info: The afterparty will begin after Michie Mee's performance and go until 2:00 am Docta Def will play from 10:30 pm until 11:00 pm / DJ Quanta will play from 11:00 pm until 11:30 pm / DJ Carmelo will play from 11:30 pm until midnight. Docta Def will play from midnight until 12:45 am / DJ Quanta will play from 12:45 am until 1:30 am / DJ Carmelo will close out the night by playing from 1:30 am until 2:00 am.
