Painting With Oils - Beginner to Intermediate

If you have ever wanted to learn how to paint with oils, this is your opportunity! Join our six-week class, where all skill levels are welcome, including beginners and those with previous experience. You will be able to work at your own pace and receive individual instruction for your paintings. While previous drawing experience can be helpful, Vicki will teach you to use the grid system and other methods to enlarge images onto your canvas.
If you're new to oil painting, we recommend starting with a simple landscape. This approach will help you become familiar with color mixing, applying paint, and other useful techniques. Please bring some reference photos to choose from, and feel free to explore abstract forms as well.
All class materials are included, including a small stretched canvas (up to 11x14 inches) to get you started. If you wish to paint on a canvas larger than 11x14, you are welcome to bring your own. You can also use the smaller canvas provided in the supply fee for later projects. Remember to bring your own paper towels or rags, and wear old clothes or an apron. Easels will be available for your use in the studio.
Students also have the option of bringing their own supplies instead of paying the supply fee. Students can enter the gallery through the front door and go down the stairs. If stairs are a concern, you may enter from the lower back level and park behind Throwbax Bar and Grill. If the lower level door is locked, please knock loudly so someone can come and let you in.
