Watercolor Monotypes With Mary Lou Hightower
Thursday, July 10th, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Join us for an engaging workshop where you will explore basic watercolor techniques and create unique monotypes based on your designs. Using watercolor, you will learn how to transform your photos or other sources into beautiful images. By the end of the session, you will have several prints that can stand alone as individual artworks or be further developed with other media. This workshop welcomes learners of all levels for an afternoon of creativity and exploration.
Participants will:
- Listen to a brief presentation on monotypes and simple printmaking techniques.
- Practice some watercolor techniques that can be used on the prepared plexiglass plate.
- Soak and prepare watercolor paper for printing.
- Paint two plates with watercolor for printing.
- Print two pieces from each plate: one monotype and one ghost print.
All Materials are provided with the exception of inspiration image or photos.
Students can enter the gallery through the front door and go down the stairs. If stairs are a concern, you may enter from the lower back level and park behind Throwbax Bar and Grill. If the lower-level door is locked, please knock loudly so that someone can come and open it for you.
