Celebrate Independence Day with a day out in your own backyard. On Friday, July 4, the Tampa Bay History Center is offering $4 off gallery admission. The discount is available in person at the second-floor welcome desk.

Spend the holiday exploring 12,000 years of Florida history in a Smithsonian Affiliate museum on Tampa’s Riverwalk. Exhibits cover everything from Indigenous cultures and Spanish explorers to the cigar boom and modern growth. With interactive displays and stories rooted in this region, it’s a meaningful way to spend the day with family.

Thinking beyond the Fourth? A History Center membership includes free admission year-round, plus exclusive discounts at local favorites like the Florida Aquarium, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and Pirate Water Taxi. On average, members save $170 a year by using partner discounts—often enough to cover the cost of membership and then some. Family- and Supporter-level members also receive national benefits through SERM and NARM reciprocal programs.
