For beginner's, continuing students and intermediate level: Learn the fundamentals of watercolour painting or build upon your current knowledge with techniques for texture, form, ink and wash and more, to create fresh and colourful paintings.
You will need:
Paints - in tubes only.
A minimum of three primary colours, red, blue and yellow with a warm and cool of each, plus an earth colour.
Choose at least one colour from each line from the list below, and bring along whatever you already have.
Ultramarine blue/ cobalt blue
Cerulean blue/manganese blue
Cadmium red/spectrum red
Alizarin/Rose madder
Cadmium yellow/spectrum yellow/Hansa yellow/Aso yellow
Burnt umber
Yellow ochre/Australian red gold/raw Sienna
Burnt Sienna/
White - optional
Watercolour paper - 300gsm, medium.
Brands: Arches/Canson/Saunders/Fabriano
One full sheet cut into quarters, each piece measuring approximately 37 x 26cm
Or, a watercolour pad around that size.
One pencil for sketching
One black ink waterproof pen 0.3, 0.5, or 0.7 is ideal but slightly thicker than these is alright.
One sketching pad, loose paper, or mixed media paper
Brushes:
Round watercolour brush (comes to a fine point), size 12-14
One flat, 1-2 inch hake, natural or synthetic hair
