We usually practice yoga each on our own mats. There is beauty in the body communal moving through meditation in group classes, but the physical practice is generally more solitary.

Jointly practicing yoga with another person--a friend, partner, or significant other--can offer unique benefits. Known as couples' yoga or partner yoga, this practice helps two people relate to one another through breathwork and poses. People who practice yoga together in couples' or partner yoga describe improved communication, as well as decreased anxiety and stress. Research shows that couples who engage in challenging new activities together can feel an increase in both relationship quality and romantic attraction. There are established benefits to its oxytocin boost too.

Practicing with a friend? Lots of partner yogis, like you, find confidence and attunement in this practice, which transcends physical touch.

Note that Yoga Moderne is student-knows-best studio and operates on opt-in, consent-based physical adjustments and assists. Workshop participants will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire after registration, and each participant completes their own waiver. Yoga Moderne is also an every BODY and inclusive studio. All partners are welcomed to practice safely here.
