Rug Hooking: Beginners Workshop

During this weekend workshop, you will learn the basics of rug hooking. We will discuss tips and tricks for creating beautiful rugs, including transferring your design from paper to burlap and how to hook with different materials. You will get a chance to practice your new skills before moving on to create a design and finish like a pro! Materials (yarn and t-shirts) are provided for practice, but students are encouraged to bring any additional materials in colours they would like to use for their final project.

Burlap is provided for both the practice piece and the original design. Students will get to keep their embroidery hoops and a hook so they can continue to practice their new skills at home!


There will be an hour break for lunch at 12pm both days.


Materials are provided, but students will be encouraged to bring any old t-shirts or wool in colours they would like to use for their final project.
