Pet Emergency Preparedness with TJO

Animal Control Officer Sanborn from Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center will be at The Zoo on Wednesday, July 16 from 11-2 talking all things emergency preparedness!

TJO's Pet Disaster Relief Trailer will be on display in The Zoo's field, which has all the supplies needed to set up emergency animal shelters for up to 60 animals. Come explore the trailer and learn all about how TJO reacts in disaster situations.

Officer Sanborn will also be providing resources on animal services in the cities TJO serves, summer heat tips for pets and families, pet disaster checklists and first aid kit information (available in English and Spanish!).

Pet supplies such as collars, harnesses, toys and treats will be available to pet owners that need them on a first-come, first-served basis and they will be taking a list for anyone looking to schedule appointments for vaccines, microchipping, or spay/neuter services.

While this event is centered around pets, please leave your furry friends at home and be sure to tell them everything you learned after your trip to The Zoo.
