My name is Jayne and I’m a fiber artist, yoga teacher and folklorist.
The spindle for me is more than a means of creating yarn. I take a spindle with me wherever I go and can often be found on a rock or tree stump spinning. Sitting there, the breeze softly brushing my skin as my fingers twirl and draw the fiber, the rhythm of the spindle, the ground beneath me. I’m totally at peace. As I watch my hands move there is something primal here, basic,earthy. A knowledge that people have sat in this way and worked gives such a sense of connection and gratitude.
