Shropshire Charity Network in-person event (Sustainability focus)

This event is taking place at the Lion and Pheasant in Shrewsbury. We will meet upstairs. Please do grab a drink from the bar downstairs and head up to find us!

At this in-person session we will be doing something a little different! As well as having a chance to network, we are excited that we will be joined by Susanne Bearblock, who is a Sustainability Consultant. Susanne will be sharing the Small 99 Action Box: Pub Mini Game, a colourful card-based game, with us. It is designed to get people thinking about carbon emissions of familiar activities.

Susanne has been a keen supporter of both sustainability and nature for as long as she can remember. She is fortunate to work both outdoors - as a Forest School leader in nature with the next generation - and indoors as a sustainability trainer focussing on how we can figure out "what is ours to do" in addressing climate change and reducing our carbon emissions. Susanne delivers a number of different interactive climate and sustainability workshops including the Small 99 Action Box Carbon Fundamentals, Carbon Literacy, food decarbonisation programs and Climate Fresk. She says that “Collaboration and connection, that lightbulb moment when someone realises the positive climate actions they can take - and sometimes are already taking - are magic!”

Susanne is looking forward to sharing the Small 99 Action Box: Pub Mini Game with us at this session! The interactive game is designed to get everyone thinking about the level of carbon impacts of everyday items and actions. We will all share what we already know, and collaborate to decide what activities have low, medium and high carbon emissions. Susanne says that she learns something new every time she facilitates the Small 99 Action Box and is looking forward to seeing Shropshire Charity Network members uncover their favourite sustainability actions to take forwards into both their organisations and their personal lives.
