Dancing CI with Different Sizes
In a garden of different body shapes, sizes, & weights, how do we create more attuned play? Come learn practices for sensing & sharing weight when dancing with bigger or smaller dancers. We will learn some foundational technique for body awareness, movement pathways, & shared attention. We will explore pouring, pushing, pulling, play & perceiving as we observe the different experiences we are having within the same dance.

Z Griss (aka Zahava, they/them) is the founder of Embody More Love, a spiritual kinky dance community for personal & cultural liberation. Z is based in Sebastopol & excited to connect with local community in this class. Z has 42 years of professional dance training in ballet, modern, middle eastern, west african, contact improv & sufi dance meditation. Z is also trained as a yoga teacher, prenatal/postnatal yoga guide, pilates teacher, Esalen bodyworker, & Deep bodyworker. Z is an ontological life coach, anti-racism activist, & grief ritualist in Sobonfu Somé’s lineage. Since 1999, Z has guided dance rituals to decolonize, heal, build intimacy, & make love out of what is not yet love. Z guides a 3 month immersion in Sebastopol called Play with Power & Gender through Dance, dedicated to attachment & trauma informed kink through partner dance. (Come to the intros July 12 & 26!) Alex Gilman (Aletheia) is a psychedelic, improvisational musician from Sonoma County, CA. Using electric guitar loops, his ambient soundscapes explore timbral textures, harmonic richness, counterpoint melodies and rhythms, and the hidden complexity in simplicity. Maze (they/them) is a Sebastopol-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and sound healer whose art spans many genres from folk-pop to ritual ambient. Maze loves to create art that cultivates deeper self-awareness, delving into themes of nature, love, personal liberation, and the raw potency of the human experience. From harp, voice, tongue drum, ukulele and more, they weave etheric, soulful, and harmonic textures to transport listeners into transcendent and inward journeys. * Wear clothing that will keep your butt, genitals and nipples covered while moving in non-linear and unpredictable ways. Actually, more skin coverage is better for C.I movements.

* Please remove jewelry.
