A REAL PAIN Movie at the SteamPlant

Salida Arts & Culture presents A REAL PAIN. Written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg nominated for Best Original Screenplay and costarring Kieran Culkin, Oscar Winner for Best Performance in a Supporting Role. The film follows cousins David and Benji as they travel to Poland to commemorate their grandmother's passing. Throughout their journey, they confront their own unresolved tensions and personal demons against the backdrop of their family's history. David is methodical and tightly wound, while Benji is chaotic and unpredictable, highlighting their contrasting personalities and fraught relationship. The film explores themes of grief, family, and mental health, particularly in the wake of Benji's suicide attempt, which adds depth to their emotional struggles. Ultimately, it is a humorously heartbreaking exploration of how family dynamics shape individual experiences of pain and healing.
