We are thrilled to announce the fifth annual Square One Golf Scramble in support of Square One, a College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University student-run, non-profit organization under the College of St. Benedict + St. John’s University’s 501c3 status. Our mission is to implement sustainable business ventures in developing countries with the goal of empowering impoverished community members and families.
The 2024 Square One Golf Scramble will help fund our project, Alfajiri, in Nairobi, Kenya during the 2025/2026 school year.
Alfajiri is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children living in the Mathari slums through art, music, physical activity, cooking, and education. Our travelers will be once again working directly with Lenore Boyde, the founder of Alfajiri.
Our travelers will work with the children of Alfajiri in the Nairobi slums, immersing ourselves in their rich culture, as well as learning about different forms of non-verbal therapy. Fundraising, like this event, helps to pay for new musical instruments, artistic supplies, books, and maintenance upkeep. Alfajiri is expanding to some farmland, aiming to teach kids practical farming skills to help them in their future.
We will have mini games throughout the course run by Square One members. The games will have varying cash prizes, drawings, and can give you an advantage in the tournament.

Golf Scramble Details
Date: Sunday, June 8th
Time: Tee off at 2:00 p.m. CST at Como Golf Course in St. Paul, Minnesota. Please arrive at 1:00 p.m. CST early so we can be prepared.
Cost: $80 per player ($320 per team). This fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, personalized Square One Golf items, free hot dog, drink ticket, and more.
