Join us for “St. Louis Park Walking Tour: Skunk Hollow,” one of a pair of related walking tours which shine a light on the fascinating undercity of St. Louis Park, produced in collaboration with the St. Louis Park Historical Society.
This tour will explore “Skunk Hollow,” (the historical name for the Oxford Industrial district) and uncover a history every bit as colorful as the area’s nickname. We’ll learn about St. Louis Park’s first industry — the ill-fated Globe Mill — and consider how the adjacent wetlands influenced development.
“St. Louis Park Walking Tour: Skunk Hollow,” will happen on Tuesday, June 17th, at 5pm. It will be followed on Sunday, June 22nd, at 1:00pm by “St. Louis Park Walking Tour: The Great Swamp,” exploring the north side of this area, where Thomas B. Walker tried to build his suburban industrial core. We highly recommend signing up for both tours to get the full story!
Single tour tickets are $14, $12 for seniors and students, and $10 for Hennepin History Museum members, and can be purchased here:
