Loving‑Kindness (Metta) & Compassion Meditation — Sunday, June 15, 2025
Warm the heart and soothe the mind by consciously sending goodwill to yourself and the wider world. In this two‑hour session we’ll practice metta—the Buddhist art of loving‑kindness—moving from self‑compassion outward to friends, strangers, and even difficult people, expanding empathy and emotional resilience.

Time Segment What to Expect
0:00 – 0:10 Welcome & Introductions Grounding breath, group check‑in, intention setting.
0:10 – 0:20 Metta & Compassion Overview + Group Agreements Origins, benefits, and guidelines for a safe, supportive space.
0:20 – 0:30 Creating Your Metta Phrase Craft a simple wish (e.g., “May I be peaceful, may I be kind”) to anchor the practice.
0:30 – 0:50 Guided Loving‑Kindness Meditation (Self & Benefactor) Direct kind wishes toward yourself, then someone who naturally inspires warmth.
0:50 – 1:00 Debrief & Hydration Break Share sensations and insights; gentle stretch.
1:00 – 1:25 Expanding Metta to Neutral & Difficult Persons Broaden the circle of compassion, resting in a field of openhearted awareness.
1:25 – 1:35 Sharing & Discussion Optional reflections: challenges, breakthroughs, daily integration tips.
1:35 – 2:00 Q&A, Take‑Home Practices & Closing Dedication Home‑practice roadmap, resources, collective dedication of merit.

✧ Logistics & Registration
Session format: in person at Uplifted Studio, inside Belleza Health & Beauty Spa (115 N 21st Street, Saint Helens, OR 97051) and live via Zoom. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early—on‑site or online—to settle in with your cushion or chair.
Registration: $15, required by 11:59 PM on June 14, 2025 (the night before). Zoom links will be emailed a few hours prior to start time.
Bring a journal (optional), comfortable clothing, and an open heart ready to radiate warmth. I look forward to practicing kindness together!
