We hope you can join us for our organization’s most celebrated fundraising event: The Metro Justice Annual Dinner on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at AFSCME Local 1635 (1956 Lyell Ave.). Doors open at 5:00pm, and the program will begin at 5:45 pm.
Your ticket purchases and sponsorship will help fuel and support the campaigns that Metro Justice stands for. Your generosity can help our organization maintain its strong and uncompromising voice in the community, fighting for social, economic, and racial justice. We hope you will join us for an evening of food, fun, dancing, and community.
Dinner will be catered by Agatina's Restaurant. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
This year's Keynote Speakers are Cassandra Bocanegra and Grandell "Bird" Logan. Cassandra Bocanegra is the senior manager of organizing for the Finger Lakes Region of the New York Immigration Coalition. She says of herself “Since I was born in Texas and had the privilege of being documented, I was taught to appreciate that privilege and use it to speak up when I saw injustices in my community. My parents are both undocumented immigrants, so there are certain things that I can do that my parents and others in my community could not.” Cass has been using the privileges of her documentation and her connection to the undocumented community, and her energy and many talents, to fight the violent repression of the current administration. We are privileged to have her speak with us.
Grandell “Bird” Logan, a member of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, has been a leader in the fight to prevent the massive Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) industrial park from paving over areas of environmentally vulnerable wetlands located on the border of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, and adjacent to several protected wetland areas.
Tickets, sponsorship, and dinner booklet ads for the dinner can be purchased below. The deadline for ticket orders received by mail is June 1st. If you cannot attend, please consider contributing to Metro Justice to ensure we remain an independent grassroots organization for years to come!
