Kite Flight

The annual Kite Flight brings Rochesterians of all ages and from all walks of life together on the beach at Lake Ontario to celebrate the art and joy of kite flying. Kite Flight is held the first Sunday in May at
Ontario Beach Park and serves as a welcome to Spring at the Beach.
Expert kite flyers show off their unique colorful creations and amaze the crowd with their skills and the public has ample chances to fly too with assistance from the "Pros".
Recreation on the Move, the City’s mobile recreation center and City Recreation staff provide free, kite building workshops for youth 12 and under providing an opportunity to actually build and fly a kite.
Performers from Roc City Circus, jugglers and other performers entertain the whole family at this colorful free and festive event.
